Commercial Construction
CMHP is finishing the construction of a custom design/build commercial warehouse located across from the Eagle County Airport in the Air Park Commercial District. This landscaped 14,400sf facility will soon provide Alliance Moving Systems with an impressive operations center built to their specifications and integrating state of the art technology. This project is a shining example of the unique "dirt-to-doorkey" engineered solutions we provide our clients.
Residential Construction
We are in the final approval processes for two beautiful CMHP design/build new homes in Gypsum located on premier lots in the exciting new Chatfield Corners Subdivision. These Doug Kopel original designs feature high-end amenities and custom quality at an affordable price in one of the hottest new residential developments. Service Companies
The snow is melting and the timing is perfect for scheduling this season’s landscaping and lawn care services. CMHP Landscaping Division is ramping up crews for the 2007 season in our continued tradition of outstanding quality and personalized service. Additionally, our recent acquisition of Harry Hunt Snow Removal has allowed us to offer a comprehensive yet reasonably-priced year-round outside maintenance package to new and existing clients.

Colorado Mountain Home Properties, LLC (CMHP) was founded in 2000 by Douglas R. Kopel a long-time Design/Builder in the State of Michigan and Sally A. Darlington a long time resident of the Vail Valley. CMHP has grown steadily to become one of the most competitive construction and real estate services companies in the Vail Valley. Our diverse experience and expertise in the construction and real estate industry has been of great value and benefit to our clients and encompasses many diverse markets including: residential, commercial, development, education, historical renovation, retail spaces, security, multi-family structures, churches, and commercial office buildings.

Douglas R. KopelDouglas R. Kopel  

As a young Design/Builder, Douglas R. Kopel grew up in an old residential neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. The house you see here greatly influenced Douglas’s future. Doug has been in the construction business for more than 27 years. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from Lawrence Technological University in 1992 and his Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture in 1987.

ResidencePrior to founding Colorado Mountain Home Properties, LLC, Doug worked on various commercial and residential projects. He most recently was the Vice President of Development at Walbridge Aldinger a Detroit based top 50 Design/Builder and General Contractor and one of the largest construction companies in Michigan.

Sally DarlingtonSally Darlington  

Integrity, respect, hard work and commitment are words to describe Sally Darlington, Broker for Colorado Mountain Home Properties. A mother of two children, Sally is a dedicated parent who strikes the rare balance of quality time with her family and a highly successful career. In the past 25 years of living in Eagle County, Sally has seen change and growth in the community. Her knowledge of the area is long term. She truly enjoys living in the mountain community and shows this love in her commitment to the customer.

Coming from a family of six children Sally’s drive and commitment was cultivated early in life and was enhanced during an extensive competitive athletic career which has spanned decades. She learned about hard work in high school athletics which later carried over to varsity college competition and landed her the notoriety of being the first female competitor to be inducted into the initial organization of membership at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth Athletic Hall of Fame.

After college Sally relocated to the Vail Valley in 1980 where she continued her competitive nature by competing nationally in triathlon and other multi sport events. A continued hockey enthusiast, Sally is one of the team organizers for the Vail Breakaways women’s hockey team and anchored that team’s defense for years during their dynasty in women’s hockey in the western states and the 5 consecutive year championship winners in the state of Colorado women’s hockey association. She continues to play hockey both in the men’s leagues and women’s league along with her passion of sharing the sport with her son in a coaching capacity in the WECMRD program.
